Modern Community Pharmacy Practice
The MCPP model has been developed to work alongside and underpin the quality and safe delivery of contracted and private services. It will support the changes required to enable community pharmacies to thrive in a rapidly evolving and challenging health, technological and economic landscape.
It focuses on those aspects of a pharmacy business that are in the control of owners and managers. It does not focus on the issues that impact on pharmacies but are out of their scope of direct control or influence including regulation, legislation and contracting.

The model is based on similar principles to that used to develop Healthy Living Pharmacy, that is organisational development. However, the MCPP model is much broader covering all elements that are in the direct control of pharmacy owners, managers and pharmacists.
This short video covers the why, how and what of the principles that supported the development of the model and introduces the key elements.
